An exploration of British landscape and language. This project received Arts Council funding in 2014 and led to the publication of a book of the same name in 2015. Through photography and the written word Uncommon Ground examines our cultural history of landscape. This examination encompasses geology, ecology, geography and topography but treats these distinctions lightly, drawing equally from science, vernacular and lore to present an idea of landscape as it is experienced. The photographs in this series show epic vistas and ephemeral details with equanimity, presenting all aspects of the landscape as part of an interconnected whole.
