Arboretum
City trees have hard lives. Right from the start they come under attack from all sides, becoming victims of shortsighted planting, inconsistent watering, ham-fisted pruning and meaningless physical abuse. Trees lucky enough to make it to maturity still have to contend with the air pollution, concrete-bound roots, contaminated water, collisions with cars and busses and the fell whims of the council and the developer. This project examines the life of trees of london and tries to shed light on the disparity between what we owe them and how we treat them.
