I was asked by Sam Lee to produce the artwork for his fourth studio album “songdreaming”, released in March 2024. Sam and I worked together to develop concepts for the imagery, deciding to shoot at a location dear to Sam’s heart and emblematic of this album's exploration of landscape and nature. Described in Mojo as “a record about country walks and the mystical power of landscape suffused with a deep belief that music might begin the process of healing the planet at a time of ecological apocalypse” and by the Financial Times as “beautiful and unsettling”, songdreaming is an extraordinarily rich and complex work from a musician deeply connected and concerned with the natural world.
Online magazine www.ourculturemag.com listed songdreaming as one of the “50 best album covers of 2024” and picked it out amongst the 10 which made the strongest impression - which was nice.
